My Thoughts:
Ended this book totally speechless!!
What a great book 2 in the Realms in Peril series! We start off right where we left in book 1, and things keep going from there. This book is multi POV and multi timeline, so ill talk about each one separately.
Kya’s time imprisoned by Daegel is so powerful, horrible and terrible. It was so well written, and I love her so much. I love that she is strong and fights for herself no matter what. There were definitely some surprises I was not expecting, but man they were such a surprise! Some of the stuff that happened here I swear I was not prepared for, and had me so upset/invested.
Ryker’s time in their world without her, trying to find her, defend her land, and deal with everything is also written so well and I felt for him omg. I love Ryker, he is one of my favorite shadow daddies! His grief induced manic disposition shooting around the realm trying to figure out how to save her is everything I want in a fated mate.
Malina’s POV was heartbreaking and so vulnerable. I can’t imagine how she is feeling, and honestly the author writes her pain and suffering and coping so well I feel like I understand what she went through. I love Malina, and I hate that she was sent to this dark place in her mind after Kya fell into the rift. So glad Hakoa is back in the story here to help, and Can’t wait for more of the 2 of them!!
Zalen’s timeline was interesting. I personally did not make any connection to the rest of the story until literally the last line of the book lol. Because of this, I did not feel invested in his story. He and Maera weren’t likeable to me in general, and I didn’t really care about them. HOWEVER, in book 3 I very much do care about it now that I have more info.
Overall, I loved Bound by Fate by A.N. Caudle! I love this series and cannot wait for book 3! I think If I understood a bit more about the Zalen timeline and the connection earlier in the book, this review would probably be 5 stars.
Worthy of a re-read.
